This week it's Christmas, and as I'll be away with my family, I'm just showing off something small.

This week, I'm showing off a puzzle I made in Portal 2 named Small Chamber, Big Heart.

You can download and play this puzzle by clicking here!

The aim of this puzzle is very simple: You must place the two boxes on the buttons by the exit (left in the below photo).

An alternative viewpoint:

A birds-eye view:

The solution to this is below, feel free to read on if you'd like to know how this puzzle is solved, or avoid it if you'd like to have a go yourself!

1. Pick up the box that spawns on the right, and interrupt the beam in the corridor on the left. This deactivates one of the barriers to the exit. Both need to be deactivated to complete this puzzle.

2. Using portals, take the reflection cube up to the ledge and shine the laser into the opposite target. This drops the other barrier into the next room.

3. Enter the other room, and shoot a portal at the only portal surface in the room. This enables you to move between the two rooms even when the barriers are up.

4. Making sure you have a portal linking the rooms, press both buttons to reset the puzzle. This drops both cubes into their original place, and deactivates the fizzlers that would normally prevent you from getting to it without losing your portals.

5. Carry both boxes through the portals and place each one on the buttons in the other room. This opens the exit and solves the puzzle.

My intention behind this puzzle was to have a solution that a player wouldn't normally think of, as resetting the puzzle is a required step, which after having several people playtest this puzzle, is not something players would initially consider doing as a part of a solution to the puzzle.

That's all for now, I'll be back next week! Happy Christmas everyone!
