A long time ago during one of my games, some players of mine decided to pour water into a mug that they knew was cursed. What emerged was a small, black ooze-like ball that dragged itself out of the mug, and began to approach the party's mage. The players, instead of killing it, pushed it off the side of a cliff they were next to, and ran away. This was intended to be a throwaway moment. However, a player who was in the party asked me if it was going to come back.

So I dreamed up The Corruption, a force that would grow to become one of the most powerful forces in my DND universe, occasionally surpassing the power of even gods.

While it no longer originates from a teacup, The Corruption is a fully developed character template. Please enjoy attaching it to your characters!
